FGM Mandatory Reporting Guide for Health Professionals
The Department of Health has put together a package of support materials to help Health Professionals understand how and when to report any cases of female genital mutilation (FGM) in girls under 18.
The following materials are in PDF format and can be viewed in your browser, downloaded and printed out:
- Poster - for health organisations to display about the duty to report FGM.
- Guidance leaflet for healthcare professionals - a two page summary of the duty including a process flowchart
- Training package - a training presentation organisations can use to help them deliver 10-15 minute updates to staff to explain the duty.
- Information leaflet for patients - professionals can use the leaflet to help when discussing the duty to report FGM to police with patients and their families.
