Cancellation & Charging Policy
NSCB training course bookings must be cancelled with 72 hours notice to avoid a charge being made to your organisation.
Cancelling your booking
To cancel a place on a course you must log back into the registration system and cancel your place.
The NSCB have produced a guide to cancelling a booking which can be found below.
Can a Colleague attend on my behalf?
Yes – Although we prefer you to cancel the place a colleague can attend in your place. If you wish for a colleague to attend in your place it is your responsibility to inform the trainer and sign in on the attendance sheet. You will also need to inform the NSCB Business Office via e-mail email@example.com to ensure they are sent an evaluation request and certificate.
Charges for non-attendance
The NSCB actively implement a charging policy for non-attendance at NSCB training sessions. For 2017 / 2018 the charges will be:
- £50 for a half-day session
- £100 for a full-day session
Exceptions will be made in exceptional circumstances only, at the discretion of the NSCB.
Why is this necessary?
The first three months of face-to-face training delivered by Barnardo’s Training & Consultancy included 15 different learning sessions with 355 places available. All of the places were booked in advance but of these, 64 failed to attend the training sessions, that’s 18% of places available. All 15 learning sessions had waiting lists and all 64 of those places could have been filled if they had been cancelled in advance.
